Cindy Barber is well known throughout Australia for her exquisitely designed handmade piñata's. Cindy had once appeared on Good morning Australia, presenting the host, Bert Newton, with a customized piñata of himself. Cindy's creative talents extend well beyond piñatas and include customized lead light design, painting and sculpture.

In 2001 Cindy was lying in bed reading. On this particular night when her hands and wrists began to ache, she thought there must be a better way. It was then that she first envisaged a better and more comfortable method of reading. The first prototype was made within days. Since then extensive market research has been undertaken to refine the initial prototype and also to confirm considerable consumer interest in the product. "The book Seat", as it is now known, was born.

Australian patent has been granted and sealed. International patents have been lodged and are currently pending.
